Version 2026-06-12
Boothe — Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 12, 2026 · Version: 1.0 · Contact: bootheadmin@gmail.com
This Privacy Policy explains what Boothe ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Service. Boothe is intended for adults (18+); we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, password (stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text), and optional display name.
- Tracker data you add — shows, applications, deadlines, fees, notes, images you submit for extraction, and your home location (used for distance and reminders).
- Event submissions — factual event details you or a market organizer submit to the shared directory.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor, Square. We do not see or store full card numbers; we store only a subscription status and processor references needed to manage your plan.
- Usage and device data — basic logs (e.g., IP address, browser type, timestamps, error events) used to operate, secure, and debug the Service.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service (track shows, send reminders and the optional weekly digest, manage your account and subscription).
- To process payments and prevent abuse (including detecting duplicate free trials).
- To improve the product and fix problems.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, password resets, and service changes.
- To build the shared event directory from factual event details, as described below.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. AI processing
When you submit text, links, or images for extraction or event verification, that content is sent to a third-party AI provider to return structured fields (for example, event name, dates, and deadline) or to assess whether an event listing appears legitimate. Don't submit anything confidential that you don't want processed this way.
4. The shared event directory (community contributions)
If you enable contribution (it's a setting you control), only the factual event details you add — event name, organizer, venue/location, dates, deadline, fee, and links — may be used to build a de-identified directory shown to other users.
- We never include your identity, application status, amounts you paid, your notes, or your images in the directory.
- Contribution is off-by-default-safe: it is controlled by a setting you can turn off at any time in Settings.
- Anyone, including a market organizer, may also submit event facts directly. Submitted events are reviewed (including automated verification) before they appear, and may be edited or removed.
- Factual details that other people also report independently may remain in the directory even after you opt out, because a shared fact is no longer tied to you.
5. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run Boothe, under their terms:
- Square — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Email provider — to deliver password resets, reminders, and the digest.
- AI provider — for extraction and verification, as described above.
- Hosting/infrastructure provider — to run the application and database.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the public.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access & export — you can export your data from the app.
- Correct — edit your account details and entries at any time.
- Delete — you can delete your account, which removes your personal data (de-identified factual directory entries that others also reported may remain).
- Contribution opt-out — turn off directory contribution in Settings.
- Marketing — our emails are transactional (account, reminders, digest); you can disable the digest in Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example, under the California CCPA/CPRA or the EU/UK GDPR), including the right to opt out of "sharing" and to request access or deletion. To exercise any right, contact bootheadmin@gmail.com.
7. Data retention & security
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. On account deletion we remove your personal data. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards (including hashed passwords and encrypted transport), but no system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. International users
We operate the Service from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
9. Children
Boothe is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
